Professor Daniel Fick began his career at Sir Charles Gairdner and Hollywood Private Hospitals after completing his Medical Degree at the University of Western Australia. He expanded his training into several sub-disciplines of orthopaedics including computer navigated trauma and joint replacements as well as arthroscopic procedures of the hip, shoulder and knee.

Daniel Fick is an adjunct Associate Professor of Computer Science and Engineering at Curtin University, Perth, and Professor of Materials Science and Engineering at the University of North Texas.
In 2007 Dan was admitted as a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Surgeons and today works in partnership with Professor Riaz Khan at The Joint Studio www.thejointstudio.com.au, and operates out of Hollywood Private Hospital, and St John of God Hospital Geraldton in private and Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital and Geraldton Regional Hospital in the public sector. He has been a respected member of the Australian Orthopaedic Association since 2009 and is represented on the Medical Board of Western Australia. As a Surgeon Scientist, Dan has served as a reviewer on the British Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery (BJJ) since 2007 and has published extensively whilst contributing to the Joint Studio's own continuous prospective arthoplasty database which also supports an AOA accredited international fellow.
In 2015 Prof Daniel Fick and Prof Riaz Khan established the Australian Institute of Robotic Orthopaedics www.airo.net.au with Associate Professor Brett Robertson.
